What is Widow Pension Scheme
After the death of the husband of Uttar Pradesh, the government gives pensions to destitute women every month for maintenance and improvement of living standards. The government has recently made a lot of changes in Vidhwa Pension This is mentioned in the new mandate issued on 16 June 2017.
The government has increased the income of Vidhwa Pension from 46 thousand rupees to two lakh rupees. Eligible pensioners are required to submit a photocopy of the document even after filling out the form, causing inconvenience to them. Under the scheme, women on the BPL list are given Rs 300 per month, which comes to the bank account twice a year.
The beneficiary does not have to face much trouble to take advantage of the scheme. The beneficiary of the rural area has to apply to the Gram Sabha for the Nirshit Mahila Pension Yojana while for the urban area one has to go to the office of the District Probation Officer.

Eligibility for Widow Pension Scheme
- The woman should be a permanent resident of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
- The husband of the applicant has died.
- The applying woman must be over 18 years of age.
- The annual income from all sources should not exceed two lakhs.
- The woman is not getting a pension from any other scheme.
Important Documents for Vidhwa Pension Yojana
- Color Passport Size Photo Of Woman
- Age-related certificate (mark sheet or medical officer)
- Husband’s death certificate (village or civic body)
- A aadhar card is required. So separate age certificate will not be required.
- Photocopy of bank account, including IFS code
- Mobile number
- Residence Proof.
How To Apply Online Widow Pension in UP
Step 1 – Candidates have to go to the official website sspy-up.gov.in.
Step 2 – Candidates have to click on the “Widow Pension” link on the homepage
Step 3 – Now candidates click on the “Apply Online” link.
Step 4 – Candidates click on the “New Form” link.
Step 5 – Widow Pension Scheme UP online registration form will open.
Step 6 – Fill all the required information in the application form.
Step 7 – After that click on the “Save” Option.

All the print out of the online application will have to be submitted and submitted to the BDO, SDM, and all the necessary documents.
